Guided by Dr. Yuri Barnakov and Club President Olu Bamiduro the Norfolk State University opened its doors for the first time on 11.18.11 as part of the run-up to the march Virginia Queens' State Championship to be held at NSU with GM Susan Polgar. GIBRALTAR | 1 November 2011

The Gibraltar Chess Club was out on Saturday promoting chess. A chess day was held at the Piazza on Saturday morning as our local champion Stephen Whatley introduced the game to a number of keen youngsters with life size chess pieces and board which had been set up for the event. He also played a number of games with keen chess players.
